In honor to the International Cinema Dubbing Day, last 12 de junio the JD Spanish Crew staff had the opportunity to have a chat with Luis Posada, famous dubbing actor and director in the Spanish film industry. He often, and since decades ago, lends his voice to frontline actors such as Johnny Depp, Jim Carrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, John Cusack, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell and Adrien Brody.
During the afternoon we spent chatting with him, Posada spoke about the ins and outs of his work. One of them is the secrecy coming from producing companies like Marvel Studios that dubbing actors have to deal with during their work sessions, when they can barely know anything about the script. Even the scenes shot are often offered to the actors in low resolution and a watermark in order to protect the plot from being revealed in any way.
Posada also remembered some fun facts from his dubbing sessions while lending his voice to Johnny Depp’s characters and answered some questions from Johnny’s fans on our Twitter account.
