Jeanne Du Barry, the new historical film by French director and actor Maïwenn and starring Johnny Depp as king Louis XV, will open this year’s Cannes Festival edition.
Notorious Pictures Spain, the film distributor, hasn’t confirmed the Spanish release date yet, although they have published the official promotional posters for the Spanish screenings.
Jeanne du Barry, produced by IN2 Film and distributed by Le Pacte in France and by Notorious Pictures in other European countries, was shooted during May 2022 in multiple French locations such as Versailles. Shooting photos were already showing a movie plot full of intensity and beauty of the most flourishing ages for the French monarchy.

The film project cast is expected to attend this year’s Cannes Festival edition next month, where it will be premiered in its official section.
